Our team

Dr. Balbaev Gani currently serves as Vice-Rector for the Research Council of JSC “Academy of Logistics and Transport” (since 26 August 2021). Previously, he held several academic and leadership positions at Almaty University of Energy and Communications (AUEC), including Director of the Institute of Telecommunications and Space Engineering, Head of the Departments of Electronics and Robotics and Space Engineering and Technology, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Radio Engineering and Communication, Associate Professor, and Senior Lecturer.

He received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kazakh National Technical University in Almaty in 2001 and earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cassino and South Lazio, Italy, in 2015 under the Bolashak program.

His research interests include robotic systems and complexes, artificial intelligence, and lower-limb exoskeletons for rehabilitation. He has participated in national and international scientific projects, including grants from the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan on adaptive manipulator drives, innovative LED power supply systems, and artificial vision for robotic systems, as well as Erasmus+ projects such as InnoCENS and APPLE.
