Prof Shahid HUSSAIN

Associate Professor of Biomedical Robotics at the University of Canberra

Dr. Shahid Hussain is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Robotics at the University of Canberra, where he founded and leads the Assistive and Rehabilitation Robotics Research Laboratory. Previously, he worked as a lecturer at the University of Wollongong, Australia. He received his PhD in Robotics from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 2013. His research interests include assistive and rehabilitation robotics, compliant actuation of robots, robotic mechanism design and optimization, nonlinear dynamics and control of robotic systems, human–robot physical interaction using artificial intelligence, biomechanical modelling, engineering education, and micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). He has published more than 80 papers in leading journals in the field.
