Building Kazakhstan’s Next-Gen Robotic Assistant for Knee Surgery

January 01, 2026

CEMRR is advancing a next-generation robotic assistant for knee surgery to support higher precision, safer workflows, and more consistent outcomes in orthopaedic procedures. Building on our strengths in robotics, control systems, computer vision, and medical AI, the initiative focuses on enabling surgeon-in-the-loop assistance, improving alignment, positioning, and execution accuracy while reducing variability across cases. The project will integrate pre-operative planning with intra-operative guidance, using real-time sensing and intelligent decision support to help surgeons navigate anatomy, verify targets, and maintain optimal trajectories. Through close collaboration with clinical partners, this platform aims to strengthen Kazakhstan’s capacity for advanced surgical robotics, accelerating translation from research prototypes to clinically deployable systems.
